This week on View from the Gutters, our topic work is Loaded Bible, Book 1: The Jesus vs. Vampires Gospels, by Tim Seeley. Published from 2006-2008, Loaded Bible is the story of the second coming of Jesus (sort of) in the post-apocalyptic ruins of the United States. It follows his adventures as he fights vampires, conflicts with the church, and tries to figure out his place both as a savior and a man.
Loaded Bible is a crazy fun trip, with incredible designs and a classic B-movie style. It’s our second work by Tim Seeley in recent weeks (you can check out our previous episode on Revival). The two works represent an interesting contrast, especially as Seeley worked with Mike Norton on both books.
In our recommendation section our hosts nominated Todd: The Ugliest Kid on Earth, Kingdom Come, Enemy Ace: War in Heaven, and God Hates Astronauts for discussion on the next episode, and our selected title is Kingdom Come.
Our hosts for this episode were Andrew Chard, Matt McGinnis, Tobiah Panshin, and Cade Reynolds.
